Requirements for setting up a business
The future shareholder(s) and business representative must be present in person at the registration of the business.If the company has several shareholders and representatives, they must all be present.
A valid identity document and Slovenian tax number are required.
Share capital of the d.o.o.(LLC) must be in cash in a minimum amount of EUR 7,500.
A shareholder cannot be on the register of the Financial Administration of the Republic of Slovenia as a tax debtor or a defaulter.
Setting up a business:
To start a business – s.p. (sole trader) or d.o.o. (limited liability company) you need:

Procedure for establishing s.p. (sole trader) status at the branch of AJPES
To register as s.p. (self-employed) a future entrepreneur needs:

During the registration procedure for s.p. (sole trader) status, a clerk prepares the following forms for the future entrepreneur:
- Entry of an s.p. (sole trader) in the Slovenian Business Register – AJPES form,
- Submission of tax information on the s.p. (sole trader) to the Financial Administration of the Republic of Slovenia (FURS)– FURS form,
- Registration in the compulsory social security scheme – M1 form.
- Articles of association/memorandum of association (if there are more shareholders)
- Resolution that appoints the company’s representative(s),
- Resolution on the establishment of the company’s business address,
- Declaration of the representative,
- Declaration of tax information.
